Gueydan Flying Ducks
Gueydan’s Team. Vermilion Parish’s Pride.
The Gueydan Flying Ducks were built to be more than a basketball team.
From the beginning, our vision has been to create an organization that becomes part of the everyday life of Gueydan and Vermilion Parish — an organization that brings people together, creates opportunities for young people and adults, supports local businesses, recognizes the people who support us and uses basketball as a platform to serve the community.
Winning championships is important to us.
But championships alone will never define the impact we want the Flying Ducks to have.
We want our organization to be remembered for what happens away from the scoreboard as much as what happens on it.
That is the purpose of our Community platform.
Through Ducks Care, the Dazzling Duck Divas and the Dancing Ducklings, the Flying Ducks are building programs that allow people throughout the community to become part of Duck Nation whether they play basketball or not.
Our goal is simple:
Build basketball. Build people. Build community.
A Community-First Organization
The Flying Ducks proudly call Gueydan, Louisiana home.
That means representing the town carries responsibilities.
We want the people of Gueydan and Vermilion Parish to feel that the Flying Ducks belong to them.
Not just on game day.
Not just during basketball season.
Throughout the year.
Community involvement means being present.
It means showing up.
It means recognizing people.
It means supporting young people.
It means developing relationships with schools, families, organizations and businesses.
It means creating events that give families reasons to come together.
And it means using our platform to bring positive attention to Gueydan.
Our community programs are designed around those goals.
Our Community Mission
The mission of the Flying Ducks Community program is to use sports, entertainment and service to create positive experiences and opportunities for people throughout Gueydan and Vermilion Parish.
We want to connect our players, coaches, dancers, staff, sponsors and fans with the community we represent.
Our community priorities include:
- Youth development and mentorship
- Basketball and dance opportunities
- School and community appearances

- Community service
- Local business support
- Recognition of community leaders and supporters

The Flying Ducks want to become an organization people recognize not only because we win basketball games, but because we participate in the community that supports us.
